Meet the Horses: The Los Angeles City Park Rangers Mounted Unit
History, horses, and community came together at the Oakridge Estate in Northridge as residents got an up-close look at the Los Angeles City Park Rangers Mounted Unit.
Held in Council District 12, the special meet-and-greet gave families the opportunity to interact with Bert and Archie, two horses from the Los Angeles Equestrian Center, through hands-on experiences including petting, feeding, and photo opportunities.
The event highlighted the important role the Mounted Unit plays in Los Angeles parks while fostering positive connections between the community and the City's Park Rangers. Attendees also learned about unique and non-traditional career paths within the City of Los Angeles, demonstrating how public service extends beyond traditional law enforcement roles.
