Summer Night Lights Kicks Off Across Los Angeles | Free Family Fun at 40+ Parks
Summer Night Lights returns to Los Angeles, bringing free evening activities, sports, food, and family fun to parks across the city.
The Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks and the Mayor's Office of Gang Reduction & Youth Development (GRYD) welcomed the community to the Summer Night Lights kickoff celebration at Jim Gilliam Recreation Center.
What began as a pilot program at a single park has grown into a citywide initiative serving more than 40 park sites across Los Angeles each summer. Summer Night Lights creates safe, welcoming spaces where neighbors of all ages and backgrounds can build community, strengthen connections, and enjoy free meals, sports and fitness activities, family-friendly programming, and access to community resources, including financial literacy workshops and mental health services.
