City Steps In to Clean Up Dangerous Property
What happens when a neglected property becomes a danger to the neighborhood? In Valley Glen, the City stepped in.
LA City Board of Public Works, LA City Sanitation, and Councilmember Nazarian joined City crews during a cleanup operation at a problem property in Valley Glen after neighbors reported illegal activity, including drugs and firearms.
After the site was declared a public nuisance, crews moved in to clean up and address safety concerns. Because the property owner failed to respond to the City, the cost of the cleanup will be charged to them. Officials say rundown and neglected properties are being tracked to help prevent neighborhood decline.
