Community, Support, and Resources on Offer at West LA Veterans Stand Down
The Veteran’s Stand Down Resource Fair, organized by Council District 11 in partnership with the West LA Veterans Administration, brought stakeholders and veteran support groups together to provide resources and community support to veterans.
The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power highlighted its employee resource group, VALOR (Veterans Alliance for Leadership, Outreach, and Recognition). The department actively hires veterans, recognizing their training and commitment.
While the event focused on veteran resources, community support was also emphasized. Connecting veterans with one another is often the first step and can open the door to additional support and services.
