Don't Go It Alone, for Disaster Preparedness it's a Community Effort
A recent Wildfire Safety and Resource Fair helped community members learn how to prepare for emergencies. The event shared tips on how people and neighborhoods can stay ready during disasters.
MySafe:LA, which works with the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD,) signed people up for free home safety assessments. These assessments help families get ready for emergencies.
Councilmember John Lee, along with the Los Angeles Fire Department and Los Angeles Police Department, said staying safe is a shared responsibility. They said events like this help raise public awareness.
Other tips included taking photos of items in your home for insurance and keeping those photos easy to access after an emergency.
