Families Receive Fire Safes After Recent Wildfires
On Saturday in Sylmar, residents visited a local fire station to pick up free fire safes provided through a partnership between LAFD and Century Safe.
Two hundred safes were distributed to help families in foothill communities protect important documents and valuables, especially those affected by recent fires such as the Hurst, Palisades, and Eaton fires. Fire officials also used the event to reinforce the need for emergency preparedness in brush fire–prone areas.
Numerous households participated. Organizers said the goal was to support residents during a difficult period and to show how public private partnerships can address community needs. The department reaffirmed its commitment to assisting impacted families and encouraging continued readiness.
