Free Eyeglasses Give Hundreds of Pacoima Families a Brighter Future
Nearly one in three Los Angeles students needs glasses to succeed in school. To tackle this urgent need, local partners recently hosted a free vision clinic in Pacoima, delivering immediate relief to hundreds of local residents.

The Power of Sight Foundation teamed up with Ketchum Health University, Councilwoman Monica Rodriguez, and Real 92.3 to transform local healthcare access. Dedicated families lined up to receive free eye exams, fresh meals, and back-to-school backpacks.

Unlike traditional clinics, technicians crafted custom prescription glasses on-site, allowing every patient to walk home with brand-new eyewear the very same day.

For many adults and children, this event marked their first eye exam ever. High costs and limited insurance often put vision care out of reach for neighborhood families. By bringing these vital services directly to Pacoima, organizers removed major financial hurdles and gave community members the tools they need to thrive.
