Greening Boyle Heights: New Trees, Sidewalks & Clean Water
A new “green” infrastructure project was unveiled in the Boyle Heights community, designed to capture stormwater, support native plants and trees, and remove impurities from rainwater. By filtering runoff, the project helps improve water quality in local waterways and the ocean.
As a result, residents will benefit from a greener, cooler, and more enjoyable neighborhood environment. The L.A. City Department of Public Works joined Councilmember Ysabel Jurado at the ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the project’s completion.
