Healthy Aging in L.A.: Free Wellness, Food & Support for Seniors
At the Teresa Lindsay Multi-Purpose Senior Center, the LA City Community Investment Department (CID), along with community partners like WLCAC, welcomed older adults to a vibrant wellness fair. Neighbors lined up for free health screenings, relaxing massages, and boxes of fresh food. Outside, visitors enjoyed a lively trunk-or-treat and learned simple tips for healthy eating.
The department stresses that meeting seniors in safe, familiar spaces helps them make smart daily choices before serious illness starts. Across Los Angeles, 19 multi-purpose centers and over 60 dining sites now provide hot meals, home deliveries, and wellness checks.
Beyond health care, these hubs offer friendship and ensure older adults stay heard. As organizers noted, the city refuses to leave older adults hanging.
