Hot Meals & Cool Spaces: The Betty Hill Senior Center
This joint effort across multiple City departments is designed to support senior Angelenos by providing essential services and community connections.
At the Betty Hill Senior Center, the L.A. City Department of Aging, the L.A. Community Investment for Families Department—led by General Manager Abigail R. Marquez—and the L.A. City Recreation & Parks Department, including Mario Amador, welcomed the public for the grand opening of its new congregate meal program.
The facility offers an air-conditioned space where older adults can enjoy hot lunches Monday through Friday, along with opportunities for socialization that help reduce isolation. Citywide, there are 65 dining sites serving approximately 2,000 seniors each day, as well as a home-delivered meal program for those unable to visit in person.
