City Sanitation and Environment provides an overview of the wastewater treatment process at the Hyperion facility in Los Angeles. The tour shows how debris is removed and how wastewater moves through the plant for treatment.

Solids collected during the early stages are processed in digester tanks, producing methane gas that is converted into electricity to help power the facility. The broader goal is to shift how sewage is viewed—not as waste, but as a valuable resource that benefits all Angelenos.
