LA Animal Services Urges Spay/Neuter, Vaccination, and Microchipping
February is a great month to spay/neuter your pet. In general, LA Animal Services recommends that pets should be spayed or neutered between four and six months old. They recommend talking to your primary care veterinarian about the process, which is a simple, one-day surgery.

LA Animal Services also recommends checking on your pet's vaccinations and having them microchipped. Microchipping does not hurt pets. LA Animal Services has free microchipping, while supplies last, at its six animal service centers in the City.
