L.A. REPAIR Supports 174 Families in Boyle Heights
In Boyle Heights, a community partnership turned funding into real support for families in need.

The Los Angeles Civil Rights Department, through Proyecto Pastoral at Dolores Mission, received grant funding from LA Civil Rights’ L.A. REPAIR program, welcomed the public to a community celebration at Proyecto Pastoral, highlighting how local programs are helping keep families housed and supported. Through a $270,000 grant, Proyecto Pastoral was originally expected to assist 75 families. With careful budgeting and strong community partnerships, the program expanded its reach to support 174 families and 230 children.

The event celebrated more than numbers. It showed how direct support can make a real difference in people’s lives. Through LA REPAIR, residents at risk of becoming unhoused can receive financial help and resources designed to create stability during difficult times. The program is part of a broader effort to address inequities, invest in communities, and provide support where it is needed most.
