L.A. Sparks: Empowering Seniors Through Movement
Hundreds of Los Angeles seniors are getting active, connected, and game-day ready thanks to the growing partnership between the Los Angeles Department of Aging and the LA Sparks.
Now entering its second year, the initiative has expanded from four to 10 Multi-Purpose Center locations across Los Angeles, creating even more opportunities for older adults to stay engaged while supporting their physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Throughout the program, seniors enjoy movement-based activities, community connection, and special visits from Sparky, the LA Sparks mascot, whose appearances continue to be a favorite among participants.
Building on last year's success, which brought more than 250 seniors to an LA Sparks game, the partnership is set to welcome even more older adults and their families to this year's "Take a Senior to the Game" event. Scheduled for September 24 at 7:00 PM, the event celebrates healthy aging, community connection, and the importance of supporting Los Angeles' older adult population. Additional event details will be announced soon.
