L.A. Zoo Lights Returns for 2025 With New Displays and Returning Favorites
L.A. Zoo Lights is back for the 2025 season, bringing one of the city’s most well-known holiday events to life with new lantern sculptures, expanded themed areas, and returning attractions. This year’s experience guides guests through several illuminated zones, including a holiday-themed walkway; a plants-and-pollinators area with oversized birds, butterflies, insects, and flowers; lantern depictions of wildlife from Southeast Asia; and an African landscape representing regions from across the continent.

The event also brings back several features from last season. Guests can visit interactive displays, walk into a large kaleidoscope installation, and stop for photo opportunities throughout the zoo, including optional photos with Santa. Seasonal food and drinks are available, from churros and hot cocoa to beer, wine, and spiked hot cocoa for visitors 21 and older. The carousel will also be open during event hours.

Proceeds from ticket sales support the Los Angeles Zoo’s mission to protect wildlife, engage local communities, and strengthen connections to nature.

Parking is free. Tickets start at $19.
The event is closed most Mondays and Tuesdays, as well as on Thanksgiving Day (Nov. 27), Christmas Eve (Dec. 24), Christmas Day (Dec. 25), and New Year’s Eve (Dec. 31).
The box office is open from 5:45 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. on event nights.
