Lauren Halsey "sister dreamer' Sculpture Park Unveiled
American installation artist Lauren Halsey has unveiled "sister dreamer", her architectural monument and sculpture park located at Western Avenue and 76th Street in South Los Angeles.
The sculpture park is two decades in the making, paying homage to the neighborhood where the artist and her family have lived for generations, and bearing the faces of Halsey's mentors, family friends, personal heroes, and other important members of the South Central community.
The park centers on a courtyard with fountains, fruit trees, vegetables, and plant life native to the site that fosters a reflection of Black America's past experiences, current achievements, and future potential.
