LA's Tree Team celebrated Arbor Day by planting trees, bringing the recent program total to 53,000 trees planted across the City. The team, with the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, Public Works and LA Sanitation, held workshops to help locals maintain the trees planted in the neighborhood.

Increasing the tree canopy is one of many environmental efforts to green Los Angeles. The trees provide community shade, make the streets more beautiful, help to save on energy costs, and have health benefits. Taking care of the trees is a gift to future generations who will reap the benefits twenty years from now.
