Mayor Karen Bass Delivers State of the City Address
Mayor Karen Bass delivered her annual State of the City address at Exposition Stadium before a large crowd, with performances by the USC and UCLA marching bands.
With major events and infrastructure projects underway, leaders from Los Angeles World Airports, the Department of Cultural Affairs, and LA Civil Rights emphasized the importance of hearing from the Mayor about recent accomplishments and the path forward. Bass said the City will continue working with departments to advance infrastructure projects, address encampments, and accelerate beautification efforts for residents and visitors.
Controller Kenneth Mejia noted his collaboration with the Mayor on budget transparency to ensure continued city services, while Port of Los Angeles CEO Gene Seroka highlighted upcoming Olympic sailing events in the Harbor and their potential to boost regional trade. Mayor Bass closed by stressing her goal of showing the nation and the world how great Los Angeles is.
