Need a Job, Housing, or Medical Care? Start at the LA Public Library
The Los Angeles Public Library is much more than books—it is a place where Angelenos can connect with vital information, assistance, and community resources.
The Source at Central Library brings service providers together in one convenient location on the last Tuesday of every month from 12:30 to 3:00 p.m. Visitors can receive help accessing free phones, birth certificates, medical care, Medi-Cal resources, employment services, job training, housing assistance, transportation support, and more.
Participating organizations include Step Up on Second, The Midnight Mission, Homeboy Industries, and other local service providers offering support for people experiencing homelessness, health challenges, employment barriers, and other needs. Assistance is available in several community languages, including Spanish, Chinese, Thai and American Sign Language.
Visitors can also use the library’s air conditioning, restrooms, and phone-charging stations while learning about services they may not have known were available.
