Pan Pacific Park Hosts Third Annual Great Pumpkin Bash Focused on Composting and Community
Pan Pacific Park welcomed residents for the third annual Great Pumpkin Bash, a post-Halloween event aimed at promoting composting and sustainability. The gathering invited families to bring their pumpkins, many still in costume, to learn how to properly compost them and reduce waste.

The event is part of the City of Los Angeles’ broader effort to support recycling and organics collection. The Bureau of Sanitation used the occasion to remind residents about correct disposal practices for trash, recyclables, and organic materials. With large numbers of pumpkins discarded after Halloween, the event provides a structured way for families to recycle them responsibly.

Alongside the composting activities, the Pumpkin Bash featured food, inflatable play areas, face painting, and other family-oriented attractions. Organizers noted that the event also serves as a chance for neighbors to connect and spend time outdoors.

Officials encouraged Angelenos to continue recycling and composting throughout the year, emphasizing the importance of proper waste management beyond the holiday season.
