This Prom Closet Offers Local Connections and Joy
Prom is a big milestone for many students, but it can also be expensive. For some families, the cost makes it hard to take part. To help, the LA City Attorney’s Office partnered with the LAPD to host the Prom Closet, an event that helps students attend prom without the financial burden.

The Prom Closet gives free formal wear and accessories to local students in need. Students can choose from dresses and suits, as well as shoes, handbags, makeup, and jewelry. The goal is simple: every student deserves to feel confident and enjoy their prom night.

The event also helps build stronger relationships between law enforcement and the community. It creates a welcoming space where families can connect and feel supported.

For the people who organize and support the event, the best part is seeing students smile and families share in the moment. The Prom Closet is more than just free clothes. It’s about creating joy, confidence, and connection.
