Experience the vibrant celebration of Cinco de Mayo inside the Los Angeles City Council Chambers. Hosted by Councilmember Imelda Padilla, the event honored local Chicano leaders and celebrated their lasting impact on Los Angeles.
The City of Los Angeles recognized inspiring community figures, including Marcos Reynoso, a local business owner known for serving authentic cuisine, and Daniel “DoKnow” Lopez, the nationally recognized comedian from Echo Park, along with many others making a difference across the city.
With more than 50% of Los Angeles residents identifying as having an immigrant background, the event highlighted the importance of the Chicano experience and the vital role these stories play in shaping the city’s culture, history, and identity.
