Revitalizing Lankershim Blvd: Inside One of Los Angeles' First JEDI Zone Projects
How can revitalizing just one commercial corridor help strengthen an entire neighborhood?

This project highlights one of the first completed JEDI Zone initiatives in the City of Los Angeles, bringing new life to a stretch of Lankershim Boulevard through façade improvements for nine local small businesses. Backed by a $500,000 City investment, the upgrades enhance storefronts, improve curb appeal, and help create a more welcoming environment for customers and the community.

Many of the participating businesses have served the neighborhood for decades. Business owners share how the improvements are helping attract new customers while recognizing the long-standing investments these small businesses have made in the community.

City leaders discuss how revitalized commercial corridors can encourage pedestrian activity, support local economic development, and create safer, more vibrant neighborhoods. By investing in neighborhood business districts, programs like the JEDI Zone aim to strengthen local economies and build community one block at a time.
