Snow Day Brings Neighbors Together at Westside Park
Westside Park turned into a small winter field trip this week as families gathered for a holiday event that brought real snow to Los Angeles. The park set up sledding hills for kids, a separate play area for toddlers to touch and explore the snow, and even a snow zone for dogs. Watching kids race down the hill and dogs kick up powder was half the fun.

For many families, it’s a rare chance to experience winter without leaving the city. “In LA we don’t have snow, so it’s nice to bring it to the community,” one parent said while helping their child line up for another run.

Neighbors credited Councilwoman Heather Hutt of Council District 10 for hosting the event, noting that her community gatherings are always well attended. “We live in the neighborhood, so it’s easy to come out and let the kid go sledding,” another parent said.
