Tech Hub Coming To Local Housing Community Thanks To $750K Grant

A new state-of-the-art computer lab is coming to Parthenia Place, transforming an unused room into a vital community tech hub. Thanks to a $750,000 federal investment secured by Congresswoman Luz Rivas, residents will soon have free access to computers, internet, and digital resources right where they live.

Built in 2021, Parthenia Place provides housing for 160 residents, including families who previously experienced homelessness. The new lab is designed to help bridge the digital divide by creating a dedicated space for students to complete homework, adults to apply for jobs, take college courses, and connect with essential government services.

For many families, the lab will provide something difficult to find at home: a quiet, distraction-free place to focus and learn. Residents say the investment will open doors to education, career opportunities, and new skills, bringing critical resources directly into the community and helping neighbors thrive.
