Why Does Los Angeles City Hall Glow Teal?
Every September, Los Angeles City Hall is illuminated in teal in recognition of Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month. This annual tribute marks a decade of partnership with The Ovarian Cancer Circle, raising awareness and honoring those affected by ovarian cancer.
Inspired by Robin Babbini, The Ovarian Cancer Circle is dedicated to raising awareness, supporting survivors and families, and advocating for those impacted by the disease. The teal illumination serves as a powerful symbol of hope, remembrance, and community solidarity.
For ten years, the organization has worked alongside Los Angeles City leaders to amplify its message and bring greater awareness to communities across the city. The annual City Hall presentation reflects a shared commitment to education, advocacy, and support.
Advocates expressed their gratitude to Los Angeles City Councilmembers for a decade of continued partnership and support, while looking ahead to many more years of illuminating Los Angeles in teal and raising awareness about ovarian cancer.
