Women of Impact Awards 2026: Celebrating the Women Making a Difference Across Los Angeles
The LA Commission on the Status of Women, City Councilmembers, and the Mayor’s Office honor women across Los Angeles each March during Women’s History Month. This year also marks the Commission’s 50th anniversary, according to Commission President Tracy Gray. Honorees were nominated by each City Council District, the Mayor’s Office, and the Commission.
Vanessa Gutierrez, nominated by Council District 14 for her work supporting street vendors and uplifting her community, said the recognition motivates her to keep fighting for those she represents. Thuy Trifunovic, honored by Council District 12, said she felt grateful and acknowledged the leaders who paved the way. Other honorees also spoke about the responsibility that comes with the recognition and the importance of continuing the work and preserving history.
