A Year in Review: Inside Council District 2
As his first year on the Los Angeles City Council comes to a close, Councilmember Adrin Nazarian looks back at 2025. His first year in office was spent laying the groundwork for long-term improvements across his district.
This year in Council District 2, attention was focused on addressing long-neglected properties like the Valley Plaza structure, signaling a renewed commitment to accountability and revitalization across the District.
At City Hall, Councilmember Nazarian’s leadership as chair of the Environment and Energy Committee helped move forward key environmental priorities, including expanding renewable energy and reaching the milestone of Los Angeles fully moving away from coal.
In District 2, quality of life remained a priority through regular community cleanups and partnerships aimed at keeping streets safe and welcoming for families.
The year also brought moments of joy, including the annual “Let It Snow” holiday event, which drew thousands of residents together to celebrate, connect, and enjoy the season as a community.
Looking ahead to 2026, Councilmember Nazarian says the goal is to anticipate challenges and respond early, ensuring his office continues to deliver meaningful support and build stronger neighborhoods across the District.
